A few weeks ago, in response to a comment that the “email when there are new comments” function on my previous system was not working at all, I replaced the comments engine with this WP Discuz plugin, which appears to have better functionality in addition to actually supporting the feature.
I’m happy to report this system appears to be working well.
On a recent post, somebody had posted a couple links in the comments, and ordinarily posts with two or more links would go into the moderation queue (a ton of spam contains multiple links per comment). I’ve now raised this limit to 3 links or more before I have to manually moderate comments.

You’ll have to register onto the site (lower right hand side, register), and then when you are logged in, there is a toggle to look at your settings.
Over the course of a day, there were a crapload of spam registrations and I don’t have the time or capacity to deal with it at the moment, so I have disabled user registration for now, sadly.

I’ll have to hit the “give up” button… I tested this thing locally with an external email address and it worked from my side. I suspect something is broken on the mail delivery or reception with all of this anti-spam stuff going on these days.
haha…just worked now…maybe just a glitch. Always appreciate your efforts Sacha. BTW now I have RSS feed on the comments (after you mentioned it a while back)…so its all good.
