I note that the market has basically baked in a guess that the Canadian Budget 2017 is not going to be very happy for mortgage insurance:

If we can get past those procedural issues. I’d say more than an hour!
Looks like nothing on mortgage insurance or residential housing in this budget.
Also it looks like most of my doom-and-gloom about the budget has failed to pass, including an increase to the GST and capital gains rates. Whew. I wasn’t looking forward to the capital gains rates increasing.
